Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Fescue Rescue, the seller of Fescue Rescue, handles personal data. Fescue Rescue is the data controller: we decide why and how your data is used.

What we collect and why

• Account details (name, email, sign-in identifiers from Google or email) — to create your account and provide paid plans. Legal basis: contract.
• Lawn profile (ZIP code, lawn size, grass, sun, irrigation, soil type, problems, tasks, notification preferences) — to produce your plan. Your ZIP also identifies a broad climate region (northern, transition-zone or southern) so seasonal timing matches your part of the country; we never ask for a street address or phone location. Guests' lawn data stays on their own device. Legal basis: contract.
• Weed photos — sent to an AI service to identify the plant; we do not save them to your history. Legal basis: contract.
• Subscription status (plan, renewal dates) — to grant paid features. Legal basis: contract.
• Technical data (IP address, device and browser type, logs) — for security, fraud prevention and fixing problems. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Support messages — to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that host the app, store data, run AI identification, and look up weather (your ZIP is sent to a ZIP lookup service and the US National Weather Service receives approximate coordinates).
• Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for selling the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) when needed.
• Authorities where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data. Sponsored content, if ever shown, never receives your data and never changes your advice.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and delete or anonymise it within 30 days after you close it, except records we must keep by law (such as tax records held by Paddle).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. You can erase device data from Settings → delete data, or email support@fescuerescue.com. We respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you may complain to your local data-protection authority; data may be processed in the United States under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and per-user database permissions.

Cookies and storage

We use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in and save your lawn on your device. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
